And (Allah) has ordained upon the religion which has been bequeathed him to him and what We have revealed unto thee (Muhammad) and that which We enjoined on Abraham, Moses and Jesus, that establish religion (faith and piety) and not divided therein. Very heavy for Pagans (to follow) is that which you call upon Him, to them. God chose those whom He wills to religion and guides (Of) him up for those who turn (to Him).
And they (the book) is divided only after knowledge came to them (the truth is conveyed by the prophets), because of envy among themselves. If not for a resolution that has been there once from your Lord (to postpone the penalty) until the time limit specified, the punishment for them would have done. And certainly those who inherited the Book (the Torah and Gospel) after them (at the time of Muhammad), truly is in deep doubt about the Book (the Quran) it.
So, call them (they believe) and put (believe and preach) as ordered thee (Muhammad) and do not you follow their desires and say, "I believe in the Book of Allah revealed and I am commanded to do justice among you. God our Lord and your Lord. To us our deeds and for you your deeds . there is no need to quarrel between us and you, God gather between us and let him (us) again.
(Ash-Shura, 42:13-15)
The Same religion has He established for you as the which He enjoined on That Noah - that the which We have sent by inspiration to thee--and that which We enjoined on Ibrahim, Musa, and Isa: namely, that ye should remain steadfast in Religion, and make no divisions therein: to those who worship other things than Allah, hard is the (way) to which thou callest them. Allah chooses to Himself those whom He pleases, and guides to Himself those who turn (to Him).
And they became divided only after knowledge reached them― through selfish envy as between themselves. Had it not been for a Word that went forth before from thy Lord, (tending) to a Term appointed, the matter would have been settled between them: but truly those, who have inherited the Book after them are in suspicious (disquieting) doubt concerning it.
Now then, for that (reason), call (them to the Faith), and stand steadfast as thou art commanded nor follow thou their vain desires; but say: "I believe in the Book which Allah has sent down; and I am commanded to judge justly between you. Allah is Our Lord and your Lord. For us (is the responsibility for) Our deeds, and for you for your deeds . There is no contention between us and you. Allah will bring us together, and to Him is (Our) final goal.
