1mln EURO is the price of the credit from EBRD???

Today Russian news agency Prime-TASS informed that Russian investigators have launched attempted bribery charges against Yelena Kotova, former director of the European Bank of Reconstruction and Development.

Alexander Matveyev, Russian Interior Ministry representative, said that the decision has been taken to open a criminal case against Kotova. She is in Moscow and had not been detained.

Irina Dudukina, press-secretary of the Investigation committee of Russian Interior Ministry
informed that "Kotova is suspected in bribe request of 1 mln EURO from the company against support to receive a credit from the EBRD."

At the same time EBRD announced that they have lifted immunity from the fifth member of Russian delegation to EBRD!

British police said on Thursday a 26-year-old junior member of the Russian delegation to the EBRD had been arrested on suspicion of laundering money. According to some sources, this is secretary of ms.Kotova, who happened to have dual citizenship. Thus, she is responsible against UK law.

This is really an embarrassment to the EBRD. Donor countries and International Funds and Banks trust into professional level of the hired bankers. They put their money into risky investment projects, syndications trusting the reports written by the EBRD bankers... Money is spent for screening every and each project. A team of at least four professional bankers is involved + outsourced professionals for legal, financial audit and yet.... the price of the question is the bribe. It is amount of bribe that matters...

Mrs. Kotova was not taking decision alone. By taking 1 mln EURO or any other amount she would never guarantee credit issue to anyone unless she wasn't sure on other board members, on bankers, that were preparing financial report for acceptance by the Board.

EBRD announced that they have finished internal investigation....

Now I may guess everything depends on Mrs. Kotova. How much information she will be willing to provide on internal life of EBRD...

Like, for example, how the nickel case got Board confirmation:

P.S. To the EBRD guys who frequently visit my posts. Guys, there is a simple truth- If something is known to two person, it is known to everyone. It's a matter of time...
